Q

The Post Office said my invitations will cost $1.00 - Do you have $1.00 custom postage?

A.

While $1.00 custom postage denomination is not available, many couples have found a way around this. We've designed two custom stamps (one at .44 and one at .61) to make sure the $1.00 denomination requirement is met.

With two custom stamps, couples have a way to think creatively ... one stamp can have their photo and the other their monogram. Or one stamp could have the wedding date and the second displays their monogram. Many couples also put the bride's name on one stamp and the groom's on a matching stamp. Think creatively - with two stamps, your guests (and even your future mother in law) will certainly do a "double take." Look what Maria & Brad did!

Q

How much are shipping charges?

A.

The bride's initial comes first, followed by the last name initial and then the groom's. See samples of custom wedding monograms for some design ideas..

Q

Will the Post Office "hand cancel" the stamp to avoid the marks?

A.

You'll need to ask your local post office.  Most will do this for you or allow you to cancel it.  Call several in your area to see what their policies are.

Q

When will postage rates increase?

A.

The Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act allows the Post Office to adjust prices each May. According to a statement from the USPS, there will not be any increase in 2010 for 1st class postage. First class postage for 2010 will remain at 44 cents.

Q

How much will it cost to mail my invitations?

A.

Your best bet is to take your invitations to the Post Office to have them weighed to make sure of the postage price. If you know the weight, you can also get an estimate using the USPS Calculator. Even with the calculator, it's still adviseable to take it to the Post Office for an official weight.

Q

My envelope is square size / has a clasp ... do these require extra postage?

A.

Yes - these envelopes are considered nonmachinable and are subject to a surcharge.

See below for the dimensions from the USPS for letter size envelopes. This also includes information on what other envelopes are considered "nonmachinable".
